The Friends of Finnish Glass Museum is a society supporting research conducted by the Finnish Glass Museum, helping to make Finnish glass art and related culture known, and promoting cultural and art events related to glass in the premises of the Finnish Glass Museum. The association annually donates to the museum historical and recent glass glass objects and rare published works on the glass industry, and participates in publishing glass-related literature.
The Friends of the Finnish Glass Museum has about 800 members. Annual membership fees are (in 2011) EUR 50 for member bodies and EUR 20 for individuals. Members are invited to all openings and events at the Finnish Glass Museum and also receive circulars presenting current affairs in the field and documenting specialist expertise on glass among the membership. The association organizes outings and trips in the spring and autumn as well as various events, including a meeting for collectors of glass, a Glass Day. Holders of member cards are given a discount at the Hackman glassworks sales outlet and the museum shop on the museum's publications.
